There are several possibilities of day long hikes, such as:
On Mountain Ok, the hike begins from the mountain road of Kaldidalur up to top of the old shield volcano. Once up at top we hike a long the rim of the old crater and enjoy the spectacular view on a good day then back to the road at Kaldidalur.
Along the Hringsgil Canyon at Husafell up on mt. Reyðarfell and from there it is possible to procede in three ways, the shortest way back down, hike further to East and follow Canyon Bæjargil by the Husafell farm down or hike further East and follow Selgil Canyon back down to Husafell.
Hike on mt Tunga from East to West and back by the hillside
Hike up Raudsgil Canyon, wade across the river and hike on top of Burfell from which there is a good view on the neighbouring valley and mountains, the length of the hike depends on how far up one follows the canyon
