Places of interest in the vicinty of Husafell for you to visit:

The Cave  Vidgelmir lava cave is 1585m long and the largest part of the cave passage is 15.8m high and 16.5m wide, making it by far the largest of its kind in Iceland. At site guided tours are offered.

Surtshellir cave is a bit further in the lavafield, there you explore the cave on your own, providing your own lights and helmets.

  1. HESPA, the botanist who dyes Icelandic wool with natural colouring from Icelandic flowers, Ullarselið,
  2. the Woollen Centre and
  3.  the Agricultural Museum at Hvanneyri  and the
  4. Settlement Centre in Borgarnes
  5. the family run local brewery at Brugghús Steðja
  6. Grábrók – the crater in the valley Nordurárdalur
  7. Glanni – waterfall in Nordurá
